My name is Andrew, and I’ve been assisting families prepare funeral arrangements for over 23 years.

I was first guided into this field by a mentor from my youth who recognized a quiet sensitivity in me early on. What began as a simple job opportunity quickly became something more: a calling. Families naturally turned to me for support, and I discovered I had an instinctive ability to guide them through one of life’s most difficult moments.

After several years helping others through their loss, I experienced a profound loss of my own. My grandmother passed away after a long illness. It was the first death my family had faced in my lifetime and in that moment, it felt like the first time for all of us. I remember the look in my parents’, aunts’, uncles’, and grandfather’s eyes. They turned to me silently asking, “What do we do now?”

I was grateful for my experience in that moment more than any other. We were able to honor my grandmother with a beautiful service, and my family found comfort and closure through the guidance I was able to offer.

But afterward, I had a frustrating realization: we had time to prepare, and didn’t. We knew the end was coming, and yet, like so many families, we avoided the conversation. We could have made things easier on ourselves. We should have.

That experience changed how I saw my role.

It wasn’t just about supporting families during a loss. I realized I could help them before it happened, through pre-planning. I spent the next few years preparing for that shift. When the time was right, I moved into the role of Pre-Planning Advisor.

Today, I help individuals and families protect themselves from the emotional and financial burdens that come with loss because when you prepare in advance, you create space for peace, healing, and connection when it matters most.
